Growing Taller Risk-Free

If you need to gain height, you already have a variety of options available to you. There are various methods that can add to your height – some involve stimulating your body’s natural growth processes, while others rely on artificially increasing your height by modifying certain things about your body structure.

Whatever you choose though, you need to be careful – toying with your height can easily lead to serious health problems if you don’t know what you’re doing, especially if you go for some of the more rigorous routines, which can involve a lot of dedication, precision, and last but not least – pain tolerance. But more on that a bit later.

What you should avoid

The most “hardcore” method of gaining height involves breaking your legs. You read that right – your leg bones get broken in a key spot. But the fun doesn’t stop here – afterwards, a special device is fitted onto your leg, using a complicated construction of pins and strings to hold your leg in a special position. What this device does is basically keep your broken bone’s parts very slightly apart, so that new bone grows inbetween.

As you may guess though, this procedure involves months without any real movement, as walking or otherwise putting weight on your legs nullifies the effect of the whole operation.

What to go for

Now that you’ve learned how height gain can be a dangerous activity, let’s look at some safer – and more comfortable – alternatives. If you want to simulate the effects of the above procedure, you can do it by causing microfractures in your leg bones – this basically involves jumping, running and performing other tasks that involve the legs actively, and wearing ankle weights afterwards, lying in bed with your legs hanging freely without touching the ground – this has a similar effect to the bone breaking procedure, but is very safe, and more importantly – painless. Actually, pain is used as a signal that you’re finished for the day!

There are some even less complicated alternatives that do not involve causing damage to your bones, be it minor or major – the most commonly used method is exercising a lot, concentrating on stretching exercises specifically. It also helps if you practice some sport on a regular basis, especially if it’s a sport that involves lots of stretching and jumping, like swimming or basketball.

And while we’re on the topic of safety – try to stay away from any medicaments advertised as helping you gain height. They may help, but in most cases you’re better off relying on yourself.
